About C10

Mission & Vision

The mission of C10 is to make known the love of Christ in our communities and neighborhoods by working together to support, expand, and strengthen both current and new ministry opportunities in our area. Our vision is that after experiencing the life-changing difference that God’s grace and love in Christ makes for them and their neighbors, people in our communities are becoming followers of Jesus Christ.

Our Strategies: Forming Collaborative Teams, Projects, & Events

Teams

Service

The role of this team is to plan and implement the multiple inter-congregation community-oriented service events which we do with our neighbors and community, thereby creating a culture of service and partnership across C10.  These events will either expand best practices of an existing Congregation’s event or be “new” events to involve all C10 congregations, and community members

Mission U

The role of this team is to design and implement educational programs to be made available to all C-10 Congregations to include training for: Lay Deacons, Professional Church Workers, CDC Directors and Teachers, Leadership and Governance, Elders, Visitation Teams, Leadership and Systems, Pastoral Leadership Institute (D2MC), Hotspots, and One-off opportunities.

Communications and Marketing

The role of this team is to increase awareness of C10 Coalition of Greater Richmond Lutheran Churches among church members and the community at large. Toward that end, the team is accountable to execute the communication & marketing plan to promote the work of C10. The team’s work is to communicate activities to the Greater Richmond area churches, to promote the work of the Circuit Churches, leverage regional media to communicate service projects and activities, and increase general awareness within the Churches, across C-10 and the community.

Leadership Team

The Leadership Team provides organizational governance at a high level, and is responsible for strategy, oversight, and has accountability to the members. The Leadership Team is comprised of pastors and laypersons that also serve in the role of the various officers of the corporation.

Why We Were Formed

C10 was formed to support local Lutheran congregations in response to the LCMS Southeastern District’s ministry goals adopted at the 2018 SED convention. C10 intends to develop a plan for circuit-wide mission engagement for 2018-2028 and, anticipating the continuing decline in the availability of LCMS trained professional church workers, to develop a plan for worker development to serve the circuit’s mission initiatives.
