Lay Deacon Program – Looking toward the Future

On Tuesday, Sept 7th, year 2 of the new SED Lay Deacon Training Program launched. Last year, 15 participants from across the district signed up (9 men and 6 women) to begin a two-year training process to become equipped to serve as lay deacons within their churches and beyond as everyday missionaries in love and service to their neighbors.

We would like to invite you to prayerfully consider joining us. If you are interested in finding out more, first view this promotional video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Skr72sWWp5w.

Second, if you are a lay person have a talk with your pastor to let them know you might be interested. If you are a pastor, prayerfully consider those in your congregation who you might like to invite to go through this training.

Lastly, visit the SED Lay Deacon Training page at http://se.lcms.org/resources/sed-lay-deacon-program/ to find out more information and to sign up. Once there, you will find an e-booklet and other information you will need to make this decision and to sign up. If you have any further questions don’t hesitate to reach out to Gary Rueter at ldcoordinator@se.lcms.org or CJ Ransdell at cjransdell@gmail.com. God’s richest blessings and we look forward to hearing back from you soon!
